Yanai, a third year editor, is doing research on Toyoko when a homeless girl named Misumi approached him, wanting him to read her manga. Although he is normally a by-the-books editor, he's impressed with the rawness of her storyboards, so he takes her under his wing, aiming to get her to serialization. A story of an editor and a mangaka, fighting against the odds to leave their mark on the world.
